SCP-714, or "The Jaded Ring"' is an item SCP in SCP - Containment Breach.

Description[]

Seemingly nothing more than a green jade ring, SCP-714 can be expanded and contracted to perfectly fit the finger of anyone who touches it; although this is the smallest of its properties. SCP-714 only changes when a 'new' content is touched.

SCP-714 can be found in a small containment chamber adjacent to the chamber of SCP-1025.

Once worn, the ring considerably reduces the player's sprint bar (up to two), which can cause difficulty in trying to escape certain risks. However, the ring can be removed and the effects are not permanent.

In exchange for reduced resistance, SCP-714 will provide defense against a range of hazards, including the lethal touch of SCP-049, camera power SCP-895, and any "diseases" that are were obtained by reading the properties of SCP-1025 and SCP-012. Being close to SCP-049 with the ring on for too long will remove it.

Using SCP-420-J while wearing SCP-714 will have no effect and a piece of text will appear at the bottom of the screen: "DUDE WTF THIS SHIT DOESN'T EVEN WORK".

Trivia[]

  • If the player removes SCP-714 from their inventory while it is being worn then its effects will linger.
  • Some people joke that when SCP-049 takes off the ring, it's to propose to D-9341.
  • The author's name may be a reference to 714.
  • SCP-714's model is amazingly accurate to the picture of it on the wiki, with the green jade pattern being perfectly replicated on it's texture for the model.
  • SCP-714 originally didn't make the player immune to some SCPs (this was added to give it a purpose in the game).
